In a group meeting we all sat down and organised our shots and sorted out which ones worked best alongside one another to best fit our concept and allow the film to have a distinct beginning, middle and end with a change of pace. Below you will find a list of coordinated shots followed by set of 4 timelines, with the shots all fading in and out in time with each other.
After we had a tutorial with Jini and spoke about our progress. As we have developed our idea from mechanical to more digital, we have decided we need to do more background research on this topic. Interesting people to look into are :
ORLAN – who looks at the extension of the human body and the human bodies limit through her art.
DONNA HARROWAY – author of ‘Cyborg Manifesto’ – an essay published in 1985. In it, the concept of the cyborg is a rejection of rigid boundaries, notably those separating “human” from “animal” and “human” from “machine”.
STELARC – artist who uses body modification to hint at humans possible future by extending the bodies capabilities and features
