Microscope tests

Recently, after being inducted, we went into the microscope room to various tests. We had been inspired by a music video I found that created cosmic-like events on a tiny scale and I wanted to try my hand at it. Using oil and food colouring, the results we got were great and there is so much more experimentation that can be done with it. For the future I learned that there is no need to shoot at 50fps as i was thinking slowing down the footage would be the best option, especially for smoother movement but if anything you need to speed the footage up to really make the most of it. I would like to keep the camera more stationary for this and allow things to happen in their own time, when sped up this creates a really great effect as some of the footage shows. I was also blowing on the liquids to get movement and trying to time it with a heartbeat as that is a sound we want to use in our film, we think it will create a really great effect.
