– Challenge the notion of transformation as linear – backwards moving or still standing. Whenever I think of the word ‘transformation’, I automatically think of the positives e.g. growth/repair. I think ti would be interest to look at transformation in the negative way and visualise this as things getting smaller/diminishing. E.g. gentrification or poverty due to overpopulation. With concepts such as these we can find visuals that will look interesting played backwards – e.g. things breaking (smashing glass), splashing, pouring and transforming in different ways.
– Magic/surrealism – with the Bolex camera visuals such as this are easy to create and make a really nice effect e.g. Man with a Movie Camera. Through this we can use stop motion and backwards moving imagery to create surrealist footage
